The defending Mid-American Conference (MAC) Women’s Basketball Tournament champion is one step closer to repeating its title run. No. 4 seed 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ University defeated No. 5 Miami University 68-61 in Wednesday’s quarterfinal matchup at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, securing its spot in the semifinals of the 2025 MAC Tournament.
The 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ Golden Flashes showcased their balanced attack with five players scoring in double figures, led by sophomore guard Mya Babbitt’s 19-point performance. Babbitt also contributed seven rebounds to help 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ control the glass throughout the contest.
Senior forward Bridget Dunn delivered a dominant double-double with 13 points and a game-high 16 rebounds while anchoring the defense with three blocks. Point guard Dionna Gray orchestrated the offense with 12 points, 10 rebounds and six assists in a complete floor game.
The Golden Flashes also received significant contributions from Janae Tyler (12 points and seven rebounds) and Jenna Batsch (10 points) to help secure the victory over a stubborn Miami squad.
With the win, 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ advances to face top-seeded Ball State in the tournament semifinals. The Golden Flashes will look to continue their title defense on Friday, March 14, with tipoff scheduled for 10 a.m.
